You're standing on the set of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Arthur Hooper's sits in the shadow of Stoney Street's iconic railway arches — the very streets transformed into the magical world of Harry Potter. Welcome to one of London's most extraordinary film locations.

The Magic that happened here…

The Knight Bus arrives - Harry is dropped off right here on Stoney Street after his wild ride across London.

The Leaky Cauldron entrance - The arched entrance to the Leaky Cauldron was filmed beneath this very railway bridge.

Third Hand Book Emporium - The neighbouring buildings on Stoney Street were transformed into the wizarding world's quirky bookshop.

Tour groups stop here daily - One of London's most visited Harry Potter locations, right outside our door.

Why director Alfonso Cuarón chose Borough Market.

When Alfonso Cuarón took the helm for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004, he wanted to take the franchise in a darker, more atmospheric direction, and London's Borough Market delivered exactly that.

The brooding Victorian railway arches of Stoney Street, just steps from Arthur Hooper's, gave the film crew the sinister, shadowy character that Cuarón was looking for. The Leaky Cauldron's entrance in the original Philosopher's Stone had been filmed at Leadenhall Market, but for Prisoner of Azkaban, this atmospheric South Bank location became the new wizarding gateway.

The scene in which Harry Potter steps off the triple-decker purple Knight Bus and walks into the Leaky Cauldron was filmed right here on Stoney Street, making our corner of Borough Market one of the most recognisable Harry Potter locations in the world.

Today, Harry Potter walking tours pass through Stoney Street every single day, bringing thousands of fans from across the globe to walk in Harry's footsteps.

And now there's an even better reason to stop: pull up a chair at Arthur Hooper's, raise a glass, and soak up the magic of one of cinema's most beloved filming locations, without catching a ride on an enchanted bus to do it.

Appropriately, the HBO Harry Potter series crew was also spotted filming in the Borough area as recently as August 2025, suggesting this neighbourhood's relationship with the wizarding world is far from over.
